MTS, VTB sign 1st commercial deal on local blockchain platform

MOSCOW, Dec 16 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator MTS and bank VTB signed Russia’s first commercial deal on a local blockchain platform Masterchain for a 392 million ruble digital banking guarantee, MTS said in a statement on Wednesday.

"VTB Bank gave a 392 million ruble banking guarantee to MTS during the industrial use of the service. The transaction was made in real time, VTB issued a digital guarantee on its node and MTS accepted the document in its node, sending a notification enhanced by a qualified signature to the bank," MTS said.

Masterchain is the first blockchain platform certified in Russia, elaborated by association Fintech, the central bank and market participants.
